Questions

Frequently asked

Do all four locations offer the same services?
The three Yang's Massage locations (Hunter Mill, Chain Bridge, and Maple Ave) share the same body, foot, and combo menu at the same prices. Yang's Spa — opening this month on Hunter Mill — runs a separate premium menu with facials, acupuncture, cupping, and head spa.
Does each location have its own booking page?
Yes. Every store has its own Setmore booking link. Picking the right store up front avoids the phone-call shuffle later — the drop-down in the header has phone numbers for each location.
Are walk-ins welcome?
Yes, weekday afternoons 10 AM–4 PM we can almost always fit you in within 30 minutes. After 4 PM and Saturdays after 3 PM book up — call ahead or use Setmore. Sunday is our slowest day.
What are your hours?
Yang's Massage stores: Monday–Saturday 10 AM–9 PM, Sunday 11 AM–8 PM. Yang's Spa on Hunter Mill: Monday–Saturday 10 AM–9 PM, Sunday 10 AM–8 PM (opens an hour earlier).
Which location should I book for a premium spa experience?
Yang's Spa on Hunter Mill (2944 Hunter Mill Rd, Ste 103) is our premium location. It opens this month — call (571) 546-1756 for the Grand Opening date, the full premium menu, and pricing.
Can I book a couples massage?
Yes. Two therapists, side-by-side, in the same room. Book in advance — couples appointments take two therapists at once so we need 24+ hours notice, especially on Saturdays. Call the studio directly for couples booking; Setmore's single-therapist flow doesn't handle it.
Can I book a Groupon appointment online?
Online booking is for regular-priced services only. If you have a Groupon voucher, call the store directly — we'll get you on the schedule. Please bring the voucher code to your visit.
Do you take HSA or FSA cards?
Yes — acupuncture and medical-massage sessions qualify for HSA / FSA reimbursement when associated with a pain or treatment diagnosis. Ask for a superbill at checkout and we'll itemize the session for your plan.
Do you accept insurance for massage or acupuncture?
Yang's is cash-pay across all four locations. We can issue a superbill for you to file with your insurer. If in-network acupuncture billing is your priority, we'll point you to a clinic on Maple Ave that's in-network with CareFirst, Cigna, Aetna, and others — no awkward hand-off.
What's the cancellation policy?
Less-than-24-hour cancellations are billed $20; same-day no-shows are charged in full. We'll always try to reschedule first — weather, illness, emergencies, just call us.
Do you have a membership or session pack?
At Yang's Spa: Buy 5 sessions get 1 free · Buy 10 sessions get 2 free · Birthday month 20% off. At Yang's Massage stores we run session packs by request — call the studio for details. No membership flat-fees, no auto-charge, no cancellation hurdles.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes — gift cards are available online through Square and in-store at every location. They're redeemable at any Yang's Massage studio. Yang's Spa gift cards available at Grand Opening.
What's your tipping practice?
Tips are appreciated but never required. If you'd like to tip, cash at the end of the session is easiest. Tip is not included in the listed prices and doesn't affect our scheduling in any way.
Do you offer deep tissue at every Yang's Massage store?
Yes. Every Yang's Massage location offers Swedish, deep tissue, and combo options across 30, 45, 60, and 90-minute sessions. Tell your therapist your pressure preference at the start — you can adjust mid-session.
What's the difference between Swedish and deep tissue?
Swedish is lighter, longer strokes — think relaxation, circulation, general tension. Deep tissue is slower and deeper, aimed at chronic knots and specific trigger points. If unsure, start with Swedish 60 minutes; we'll adjust as we go.
What should I expect on a first visit?
Arrive 5–10 minutes early. We'll ask about pressure preferences, areas to focus on, and anything you'd rather we avoid. You'll be alone in the room to change, and properly draped throughout — only the area being worked on is uncovered. If anything feels off, tell us — it won't be awkward.
Should I eat before a session?
Light meal an hour before is ideal. Don't show up fasting — the parasympathetic shift on the table can drop your blood sugar. Don't show up after a heavy meal either. A sandwich or oatmeal is the right size.
Are prenatal sessions safe?
Yes, after the first trimester. Call ahead to book a prenatal-trained therapist — not every therapist on shift has the certification, and positioning (side-lying with bolsters) is different. Not all locations have prenatal-trained staff on every shift; we'll route you to the closest one that does.
What about acupuncture — do I need a referral?
No referral required. Licensed acupuncture at Yang's Spa (Hunter Mill). The first visit runs 75 minutes (intake + tongue/pulse diagnosis + treatment); follow-ups run 50 minutes. See the full acupuncture menu at /services/acupuncture.
Is parking available?
Yes at all four locations. Maple Ave (Vienna): free street parking + side-street lots. Hunter Mill: free lot behind the building. Chain Bridge: plentiful strip-mall parking. Yang's Spa shares the Hunter Mill lot — two doors down from the massage studio.
